A blend of tea from Java with a mild and flowery flavour.
In the early 18th century the VOC started tea plantations on Java. In the following years Indonesia (then Dutch East Indies) became one of the largest exporters of black tea. Tea production collapsed during the WW II, but recovers since the 1980s. Currently Indonesia exports more green than black tea, mainly from (West) Java. Java tea is known for its light and delicate taste.
