The Harmutty tea garden was founded in the year 1878, on the bank of the River Dikrong in the northeast of Assam, and is surrounded by forests. Over the years the tea garden has established itself as one of the best of Assam.
The Harmutty tea is a flowery orange pekoe superior (FOPS) and can be characterized as an aromatic, malty Assam with an excellent flavour, dark coloured and strong, with just a tinge of bitterness.
