A tea known for its body, briskness, malty flavour and strong bright colour.
Assam tea is named after the Assam region where it is grown. The specific variety of Camelia Sinensis, the 'assamica' is indigenous to the region. It is mostly grown at or near sea level and it is known for its body, briskness, malty flavour and strong, dark colour. For these reasons it is often advertised as 'breakfast tea'.
